Oh Bobby, you are giving me something I can learn every day! It's really refreshing to know from a keys player's standpoint, a single snare can be played in so many different ways.
That was really cool of him! I was introduced to Stubblefield and Starks through the EZ Drummer expansion pack Funk Masters. They both contribute samples to the pack by playing some of the MIDI loops. I didn't know much about them at the time, and am not really into funk, but from reading about them I thought it was really cool that Toontrack was able to get the original guys who were so influential in not only funk but also hip-hop & rap, and by extension, modern pop music! Always go to the source!
